My story

Throughout my career, I've cared for people across hospitals, general practice and community healthcare. I've seen firsthand the impact of heart disease, diabetes, dementia, osteoporosis, frailty and chronic illness—not just on lifespan, but on people's independence, confidence and ability to continue living the life they love.

What struck me most was that many of these conditions had been developing silently for years. By the time they became obvious, valuable opportunities to prevent or slow decline had often already passed.

The Future Health Journey was created because I believe healthcare should begin much earlier.

Rather than waiting for disease to appear, the focus is on identifying the factors that influence how well you are likely to age, understanding the threats to your future health and capability, and taking evidence-based action while there is still the greatest opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

My approach combines evidence-based medicine, lifestyle medicine and comprehensive assessment to help people protect what matters most—their strength, mobility, cognition, independence and quality of life—not just for today, but for the decades ahead.

As both a doctor and someone in midlife myself, I understand that health is about much more than preventing disease. It's about remaining capable enough to work, travel, exercise, play with your children and grandchildren, recover from illness, and continue living life on your own terms. That's the philosophy that underpins every Future Health Assessment.

How we cope, function and our motivation is shaped by internal and external influences, from our stress levels and physical health to our environment, relationships, routines and past experiences. Her approach helps clients better understand the patterns that keep them stuck, the barriers that affect motivation, and the small, realistic steps that can support meaningful and sustainable change.

Zayna works in a collaborative, practical and evidence-based way. Rather than relying on pressure, or generic advice, she supports people to build change in a way that feels realistic, compassionate and aligned with their values. She has extensive experience supporting people to balance competing priorities across work, family, personal wellbeing, and life transitions.
