Men’s
Future Health
You service your car. Review your investments. When did you last properly assess your health?
Many of the factors that influence future cardiovascular, metabolic, bone and physical health develop gradually — often long before they affect how you feel day to day.
Future Health is a doctor-led preventive health assessment designed to help you understand where your health is today, what is most likely to matter in the years ahead, and what you can do about it now.
The aim isn't to find something wrong. It's to identify what deserves your attention — and what doesn't.
What do you want to still be doing in 10, 20 or 30 years?
Preventive health isn't only about reducing the risk of disease. It's also about protecting your ability to keep doing the things that matter to you.
That might mean:
Playing golf or tennis
Running, cycling, surfing or swimming
Travelling
Working
Lifting and carrying without difficulty
Keeping up with your children or grandchildren
Maintaining strength and mobility
Living independently
Or simply continuing to do the things you enjoy without your health becoming the limiting factor.
These goals matter because healthspan and physical capability are built over time. Understanding your starting point gives you the opportunity to act while you still have something worth protecting.
Menopause matters.
But it isn't the whole story.
Perimenopause and menopause can have a significant impact on symptoms, quality of life and some aspects of longer-term health. For women with troublesome symptoms, appropriate assessment and treatment — including consideration of menopausal hormone therapy — can be important.
But not every change in midlife is caused by hormones.
And good midlife healthcare shouldn't stop at menopause.
Your cardiovascular health, metabolic health, muscle, bone, body composition and physical capability all deserve consideration in their own right.
Mainly looking for help with perimenopause, menopause or HRT?
You don't need the full Future Health Assessment if your main priority is a focused menopause consultation.

What do you want your health to allow you to do?
Preventive health becomes more meaningful when we stop thinking only about disease risk and start thinking about capability.
In 10, 20 or 30 years, what do you want to still be able to do?
Travel independently?
Run, cycle, swim or play sport?
Hike?
Get down onto the floor and back up easily?
Carry your luggage?
Play with grandchildren?
Continue working or doing the activities you love?
Remain strong, mobile and independent?
Those goals matter because they help us decide what deserves attention today. The goal isn't simply to live longer. It's to protect the health and physical capability that allow you to keep living well.
A comprehensive starting point
Your Future Health Assessment
Before your appointment, you'll complete a detailed health questionnaire covering your current health, medical and family history, lifestyle and future health goals.
You'll then complete two objective assessments.
Your Future Health Assessment includes:
Your health
A comprehensive pre-appointment health questionnaire covering your current health, medical and family history, lifestyle and future health goals.
Your body
DEXA body composition and bone density to provide objective information about muscle and lean mass, body fat distribution, visceral fat and bone health.
Your physical capability
A Preventive Health Physical Assessment at PMQ Health, using VALD performance technology and HumanTrak movement assessment to objectively assess areas such as strength, power, balance, mobility and physical function.
Your medical assessment
A 40-minute telehealth consultation with Dr Kate bringing your information together to identify what is already strong, what deserves attention and what — if anything — we need to investigate further.

More testing isn't always better
Preventive medicine shouldn't mean doing every available test.
After your assessment, additional investigations are selected according to your individual health, risk factors and goals. These may include blood tests, VO₂ max testing or other investigations where appropriate. Every additional test should answer a useful clinical question or have the potential to influence what we do next.
Sometimes more information is useful. Sometimes it isn't.
Knowing the difference is part of good preventive care.
From information to a plan
Once your investigations are complete, you'll return for your Future Health Results & Plan consultation.
We won't simply work through a long list of results. We'll bring everything together to answer:
What did we find?
What actually matters?
What can we change?
What are the next three priorities?
You'll leave with a personalised Future Health Roadmap that identifies what deserves action, what should be monitored, and what is already strong.

A different approach to women’s preventative health
I don't believe good preventive medicine means finding something wrong with everyone. Nor does midlife healthcare need to become a race to optimise every hormone, biomarker or measurement.
The aim is to distinguish between:
What matters
What can meaningfully be changed
What should simply be monitored
and
What doesn't need your attention
That means maintaining the things that are already going well rather than continually looking for something else to fix.
Which appointment should I book?

You want to understand your overall health, future risks, body composition, bone health and physical capability — and develop a preventive-health plan.
