What is it?
HumanTrak is an advanced three-dimensional movement analysis system that uses markerless motion capture technology to objectively assess the way your body moves during functional activities. Unlike visual observation alone, HumanTrak provides precise measurements of joint movement, posture, balance, mobility and movement quality.
The assessment helps identify movement limitations that may contribute to pain, reduced performance, falls risk or future injury.
What does it assess?
-
Standing posture
Spinal alignment
Pelvic position
Shoulder symmetry
-
Squat mechanics
Sit-to-stand movement
Lunge movement
Single-leg control
Functional mobility
-
Measures movement through multiple joints including:
Neck
Shoulders
Spine
Hips
Knees
Ankles
-
Dynamic balance
Movement control
Weight distribution
Functional stability
-
Identifies differences between the left and right sides of the body that may contribute to:
Injury risk
Reduced performance
Chronic pain
Functional limitations
-
Assesses overall movement quality, flexibility and joint function during everyday activities.
Why is it important?
The way we move influences nearly every aspect of physical health.
Poor movement patterns may contribute to:
Falls
Joint pain
Reduced athletic performance
Back pain
Osteoarthritis progression
Recurrent injuries
Reduced mobility with ageing
Objective movement analysis allows subtle impairments to be identified before they become significant functional problems.
Who may benefit?
HumanTrak may be particularly valuable for:
Adults over 50 years
Patients with recurrent injuries
Individuals with chronic musculoskeletal pain
Athletes
People commencing an exercise programme
Patients recovering from surgery or injury
Anyone wishing to optimise movement and physical performance
What happens during the assessment?
The assessment is performed without markers or sensors.
You will be guided through a series of simple functional movements while the HumanTrak cameras record your movement patterns.
The assessment typically takes 20–30 minutes.
Preparation
Wear comfortable exercise clothing.
Wear shorts if possible to improve movement assessment.
Inform your clinician of any current injuries or pain.
Advantages
Markerless technology
Non-invasive
Objective measurements
Immediate results
Detects subtle movement impairments
Tracks progress over time
Limitations
Assesses movement quality rather than muscle strength.
Results should be interpreted alongside physical examination and other functional assessments.
