Meet Dr. Kate Brunsdon
Medical Doctor | MBBS | Accredited Lifestyle Medicine Doctor
I am a medical doctor with 15 years of clinical experience across general practice, psychiatry, hospital and community healthcare. My particular areas of expertise include preventive health and longevity, lifestyle medicine, perimenopause and menopause, and medical weight management. I provide holistic, integrated medical care that addresses the concern bringing you to the consultation while considering your wider health, lifestyle, physical function and future wellbeing.
Why I Practise This Way
Throughout my career, I have seen the impact of chronic disease not only on how long people live, but on their independence, confidence and ability to continue doing the things they value.
I have also seen how rarely health concerns fit neatly into one category. Hormones, metabolic health, sleep, mental wellbeing, pain, physical function, medications and lifestyle can all influence one another.
This is why I take a broader view—looking beyond an isolated symptom or result to understand the whole clinical picture and identify what matters most.

My Approach to Treatment
Depending on your needs, your plan may include:
• Relevant medication where clinically appropriate
• Evidence-based lifestyle medicine
• Nutritional strategies
• Physical therapies, rehabilitation or exercise-based approaches
• Supplements where there is a clear indication and supporting evidence
• Targeted investigations and monitoring
• Referral to another medical or allied health professional
The aim is not to investigate or treat everything. It is to identify the issues most likely to affect your health and develop a plan that is evidence-based, realistic and relevant to your life.
Working Alongside Your Usual GP
My practice provides focused, specialist-interest medical care and does not replace your usual GP.
Your GP remains responsible for your acute medical care, routine general practice, preventive screening and coordination of care outside the scope of this service.
Where appropriate, I will recommend that you involve your GP, another medical specialist or an allied health professional.
Supporting a Full & Capable Life
For me, good health is about more than avoiding disease or living for as long as possible. It is about remaining well, strong and capable enough to participate in the relationships, activities and experiences that give your life meaning. My role is to help you understand your health, make informed decisions and focus on what is most likely to make a meaningful difference.
